We are seeking part-time Security Officers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall security of the Kravis Center, including the physical plant, employees, and patrons.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors control room, fire panel and cameras.
- Makes regular patrol tours of the entire campus – including the garage – either on foot or in a vehicle.
- Signs for all deliveries and notifies the appropriate recipients.
- Signs all security keys as well as radios, in and out.
- Processes all lost and found items including logging them into the Security Log and securing them properly.
- Issues Kravis Center identification badges to visitors.
- Greets all patrons and employees in a cheerful and welcoming manner and provides information/answers questions as appropriate.
- Answers Security Desk phone and processes all calls appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
- Must have Security “D” license.
- Must be available to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as well as overtime as needed.
- Must have the physical ability to stand long periods of time and make patrol tours.
- Must be able to multi-task, adapt easily to a changing environment, and remain calm, focused and professional in an emergency situation.
- Have a high school diploma or GED, or at least (3) three years of employment history – preferably in law enforcement, the military or in the security field.
- Requires outstanding communication skills both written and verbal; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position is a part-time role. It requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including conducting foot patrols both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions; the ability to sit, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move throughout the entire campus; the ability to operate and monitor security systems, radios, and computer equipment; visual and auditory acuity to observe surroundings and respond to potential threats or alarms; the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations; and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 30–50 pounds on occasion.
