Kravis Center Hosts Dinner Honoring New Chair of the Board
Sherry S. Barrat and Immediate Past Chairman of the Board Jeffrey Stoops

Immediate Past Chairman, Jeffrey Stoops, Passes Baton to Barrat; City of West Palm Beach Proclaims November 2 “Kravis Center Day”

(West Palm Beach, Fla.) – As the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts celebrates its 30th Anniversary season, leadership for the Center also celebrated another milestone – a new Board Chair. On November 2, the Center hosted a dinner to celebrate Sherry Barrat, the Kravis Center’s sixth Chair of the Board and Jeffrey Stoops, Immediate Past Chairman of the Board. The evening was sponsored by Lugano Diamonds.

Barrat’s role as Chair follows nine years serving as a Kravis Center Board member. She also served as its Board Vice Chair, Finance Committee Chair and Governance/Nominating Committee Chair. In addition, Ms. Barrat was a member of the Employee Relations Committee and serves on the Executive Committee. Her leadership follows in the footsteps of previous Chairs Alexander Dreyfoos, William Meyer, Jane Mitchell, Michael Bracci and Jeffrey Stoops, all who remain on the Board of Directors today.

The evening began with a cocktail reception followed by a private performance by Roue Cyr artist Shena Tschofen. The dinner’s tablescape was designed by Lewis Miller Design. Lugano Diamonds displayed jewels at the reception. The elaborate four-course dinner with wine pairings concluded with a decadent dessert, catered by Lessing’s Hospitality Group. Zach Bartholomew Piano Trio performed during the welcome reception and dinner.

“Tonight is an evening of thanks and appreciation as well as celebrating the next phase of the Kravis Center’s Board leadership,” said Diane Quinn, Kravis Center CEO. “We also want to thank the City of West Palm Beach for proclaiming November 2 as ‘Kravis Center Day,’ a day to remember this nationally renowned performing arts center. How proud we are to receive this outstanding tribute — especially as we kick-off our 30th anniversary season. It’s a testament to the great impact the Kravis Center has made in this community. I also want to thank Lugano Diamonds for sponsoring this beautiful dinner catered by Lessing’s Hospitality Group and recognize the performances by Shena Tschofen and the Zach Bartholomew Piano Trio!”

Ms. Quinn then introduced Ms. Barrat to the podium.

“Jeff – we all want to thank you again for your outstanding leadership,” said Ms. Barrat. “What a remarkable job you did leading the Kravis Center through the most challenging years in its history. Not only were you Chairman through the pandemic, but you also led us through the retirement of Founding CEO, Judy Mitchell, to the hiring of her amazing successor, Diane Quinn.  Thank you for everything you have done to make this place a shining light in our community!”

Ms. Barrat then presented Mr. Stoops with a commemorative crystal star, marking his extraordinary and unforgettable tenure as Chairman of the Board.

“It’s been my honor to serve as Chairman of the Board for this prestigious organization for the past three years,” said Mr. Stoops. “Sherry’s dedication to the Center and her financial expertise will be invaluable to the continued success and growth of the Kravis Center.”
