The season will come alive across three distinctive venues: the grand 2,195-seat Alexander W. Dreyfoos Concert Hall, the intimate 285-seat Marshall E. Nine-year-old Bee Quijada sits in a suburban classroom. During a history lesson on Rosa Parks, she asks, “Where did Latinos sit on the bus?” What follows is a theatrical mixtape of Bee’s life. It’s a one-person show that immerses the audience in elaborate, layered soundscapes by fusing Latin rhythms, hip-hop, and spoken word poetry. And it’s all made, in-person, in real time, through the magic of live music and storytelling.

The Writer’s Toolbox with Julie Gilbert

The Writer’s Toolbox is a verbal guidebook of tackling you and your muse. There are so many genres of writing but the step before enthusiasm for any of them is Application. How to apply oneself to your project. Through a series of exercises and tips, this seminar should excite and ignite the ‘young’ writer, enabling their project to proceed with ongoing curiosity, energy and joy. The motto of any and all potential projects is: two pages a day for one hundred days is a manuscript. Join novelist, playwright, teacher and Pulitzer Prize nominated biographer, Julie Gilbert in this two-hour writing seminar.
