New York Philharmonic String Quartet

2021/2022 Regional Arts Classical Concert Series MUSIC “At Eight” (8pm)

The ensemble is comprised of the concertmaster and principal players of the New York Philharmonic:
Frank Huang, Concertmaster
Qianqian Li, Principal, Second Violin
Cynthia Phelps, Principal Viola
Carter Brey, Principal Cello

All four are members of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, multiple prize winners, have appeared as concerto soloists with the Philharmonic and orchestras around the world. They have also appeared frequently in the Philharmonic’s chamber music series at David Geffen Hall and Merkin Concert Hall.

Beethoven, Quartet in F minor, Opus 95, “Serioso”

Regional Arts Classical Concert Series sponsored by Leonard and Sophie Davis

Beyond The Stage, hosted by the Kravis Center’s Regional Arts Artistic Advisor Phillip Bergmann, gives the inside story of the music, musicians and composers for each Regional Arts concert. In each preconcert talk, he will provide interesting facts and background about the music and highlight elements of interest to all audience members. Talks begin at 6:45pm for the 8pm concerts in Persson Hall in The Picower Foundation Arts Education Center.
