Nov 12, 2017 | Marshall E. Rinker, Sr. Playhouse
At the crossroads of Ukrainian folklore and theater lies DakhaBrakha, a world music quartet that plumbs the depths of contemporary roots and rhythms. The self-described “ethnic chaos” band is accompanied by Indian, Arabic, African, Russian and Australian traditional instruments, including drums, accordion and didgeridoo. Created by avant-garde director Vladyslav Troitskyi, DakhaBrakha, which means give/take in old Ukrainian, blends an astonishing vocal range with brilliant scenic effects.
This PEAK performance is made possible by a grant from the
MLDauray Arts Initiative in honor of Leonard and Sophie Davis
