The 25-year-old Texas-born Alcee has quickly emerged as a “rising star” after winning multiple prestigious competitions, including the 2017 Canadian International Organ Competition (First Prize and Bach Prize), and the 2014 Miami International Organ Competition (First Prize and Audience Prize). Diapason praised him in its 2016 class of “20 under (age) 30,” the magazine’s annual recognition of exceptional performers to watch. Alcee, who earned two degrees at Oberlin Conservatory, now pursues his doctoral degree at McGill University, studying with Hans-Ola Ericsson. Praised for his grace, skill, and proficiency, Alcee has performed around the United States and in France.
