Cameron Carpenter standing with Organ

2019/2020 Regional Arts Classical Concert Series MUSIC “At Eight” (8 pm)

Apr 6, 2020 | Alexander W. Dreyfoos Concert Hall

Program to include:
Program To Be Announced.

Carpenter became the first organist ever nominated for a Grammy Award for his solo album, Revolutionary. The CD title is an appropriate description of Carpenter’s wide range of repertoire, from Bach to The Beatles, of his extraordinary technical prowess, and his design and commission of the International Touring Organ, whose “sister” digital instrument is at home here at the Kravis Center. Carpenter will play the Kravis Center’s George W. Mergens  Memorial Organ, a gift to the Center from Alex W. Dreyfoos.

Regional Arts Classical Concert Series sponsored by  Leonard and Sophie Davis

Beyond the Stage Pre-concert talks provide background information about the music and musicians for each program and highlight elements of interest to all audience members. Hosted by Sharon McDaniel, Regional Arts Programming Associate and long-time classical music journalist. Talks begin at 6:45 pm for 8 pm concerts and 12:45 pm for 2 pm concerts in The Picower Foundation Arts Education Center. Beyond the Stage sponsored by Nancy and Jay Parker.
