The astounding life of newspaperman turned playwright, screenwriter and novelist Ben Hecht is explored in The Ben Hecht Show, written and performed by James Sherman. Part comedy and part drama, the solo piece is based on Hecht’s books A Guide for the Bedevilled and A Child of the Century. Resplendent with sardonic prose, the show, according to producers, “tells you everything you need to know about show business, Jews and anti-Semites. With jokes.”
