Part comedy, part drama, this romantic tale unravels when middle-aged playboy Frank Flannagan (Gary Cooper) becomes fascinated with Ariane (Audrey Hepburn), the daughter of a private detective named Claude Chavasse (Maurice Chevalier). What Frank doesn’t realize is that Claude was hired to entrap him with the wife of a client and that he has just hired Ariane’s father to find his own daughter.
Julie Gilbert, Pulitzer Prize-nominated biographer, novelist, playwright and teacher for The Writers’ Academy at the Kravis Center leads the discussions.
