Vice President of Operations

Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer

POSITION SUMMARY: The VP of Operations provides leadership for the successful implementation and achievement of the mission of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts by providing oversight and direction of facilities and operations. The VP is responsible for Technical services, Production technology, Front of House, Security, Building Engineering – including physical facilities and grounds, as well as construction capital projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strong leader with exceptional people management and organizational skills to join the leading performing arts company located in the vibrant and rapidly changing community of Palm Beach County, FL.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
-Build and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with various partners including the Senior Leadership team, staff, internal and external partners and the Board of Directors and Lifetime Trustees.
-Coach, delegate and empower staff to innovate, increase productivity and drive for excellence while promoting and setting the example for effective teamwork.
-Set the standard for outstanding leadership, collaboration, and exceptional communication.

Operations:
-Harness best in class management practices ensuring that the Kravis Center has the building, systems, infrastructure, and people to maintain and grow the organization within the community.
-Prepare and drive vital assessment systems to ensure that resources are meeting the goals of the organization – including but not limited to developing and monitoring short, medium, and long-term maintenance of this world class facility. Has exceptional financial and business acumen.

Planning, Innovation, and Strategy:
-Working jointly with the CEO and Senior Leadership, contribute and develop forward thinking strategic and innovative plans for the organization.
Influence and generate support for projects and lead engagement of staff and other stakeholders.

-A proven leader with the experience to run and maintain operations at a high level. The successful candidate can analyze problems and provide solutions in a constructive, positive manner in a fast-paced environment.
-Team builder and collaborator, with a strong sense of customer centered focus. No task too large or small who acts accordingly, setting the right priorities in service to the Center and its stakeholders and takes accountability for his/her/their actions.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
-A successful record of eight or more years of compatible experience working in a performing arts facility or live performance venue.
-Demonstrated accomplishments in a senior level position with responsibilities in theater operations and/or building facilities.
-Proven knowledge and experience in financial management with large scale events and significant budgets, processing strong analytical and demonstrated budgetary skills.
-Keen management skills having motivated, directed and successfully lead a diverse staff.
-Able to work on site, and at designated locations and work a flexible schedule including (at times) nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Knowledge of union contracts and relationships including a working knowledge of Boards and nonprofits.
-Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
