Using animation, projections and her own moving shadow, MIWA MATREYEK, a featured artist in our 2018-2019 PEAK series, performs a gorgeous, meditative piece about inner and outer discovery. Enjoy this unique performance accompanied by music from Anna Oxygen, Mirah, Caroline Lufkin and Mileece.

Join style icon Iris Apfel and former New York City Ballet member and dance photographer, Steven Caras for this special presentation from the Kravis Center’s 2015-2016 ArtSmart Lunch & Learn series. In this intimate talk, you’ll gain insight into the life and career of Apfel and her colorful road to success. Excerpts from the documentary made about her, titled IRIS, will be viewed and discussed.

This intimate talk is led by Steven Caras, former New York City Ballet member, acclaimed dance photographer, guest speaker and the subject of the PBS Documentary, STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE. Westheimer, who has inspired millions to become more comfortable talking about sex, shares her well-known humor and charm, as well as her incredible life, which began with escaping the Holocaust and losing both her parents at the age of ten. ARTS EDUCATION ACTIVITIES & MORE!
Gather up your little ones —the Kravis Center presents LEARN & PLAY, a special online storytelling experience for young children. This series includes 5 different stories told by 5 different professional storytellers over the course of 5 weeks as part of our Kravis @ Home series. Each presentation will engage and entertain your child, and offer a fun activity or lesson you can share with them. Recommended for children ages up to 5 years-old.
A Kravis Center exclusive! Get the children together for this special collection of poems and stories with Poet Glenis Redmond, also known as a Warrior Road Poet and as the Poet-In-Residence at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in South Carolina. Your children will delight in her personal stories and poems—and have fun doing her “Nerds Rule” activity.
A Kravis Center exclusive! Accompanied by percussionist Hasan Bakr, award-winning aesthetic tale-teller Robbi K brings this West African folk story to life. Complete with African music and fun-to-follow rhythms, Robbi will have your children dancing, clapping and smiling from ear-to-ear as they are immersed into the jungle and transported on a journey with a small, but brave, young turtle.
A Kravis Center exclusive! Professional storyteller and former Chair of the National Storytelling Network, Caren Neile will entertain and delight your little ones with TOO MUCH NOISE, a story about a little girl’s struggle to fall asleep. Featuring a menagerie of animals and family members who make too much noise at bedtime, this tale is fun, engaging and perfect for kids ages 3-5.
A Kravis Center exclusive! Enjoy this whimsical tale about a family’s pursuit of their favorite snack in this story: CRACKERS AND CHEESE. Storyteller and author Mij Byram will have your children giggling and on the edge of their seats as she shares the adventure that includes a forest, a bear and crackers and cheese! Recommended for children ages 3-5.
A Kravis Center exclusive! Join storyteller Carrie Ayvar in this delightful story about two best friends who live on opposite sides of town and can’t seem to get together to play. Señor Juan and Señor Jose try and try to have a play date but keep missing each other! Find out what happens when they finally get their timing right. Includes an origami finger puppet activity. Recommended for ages 3-5 years.
Based on a featured performance in our upcoming S*T*A*R Series (Students & Teachers Arts Resources), Theaterworks USA teaching artist Lisa Petersen takes your children on an adventure with ROSIE REVERE, ENGINEER as she tries to invent everything from a snake repelling cheese hat to a cheese-helicopter that really flies! This special read aloud storytime is filled with engaging imagery and music and inspiring messaging—reminding children to never give up.
A craft activity is included after the story.
Join Cat Boynton, a rising senior at Oxbridge Academy who is training for a career in the musical theater industry, as she talks one-on-one with Jupiter resident and National Tour performer, Alexa Lasanta. At just 13-years old, actress, singer and dancer Alexa has already played a number of coveted roles, including Annie in ANNIE THE MUSICAL. She has also starred as Chip in BEAUTY & THE BEAST at the Wick Theater in Boca Raton, as Mary Lennox in THE SECRET GARDEN at Slow Burn Theatre in Ft. Lauderdale and has had numerous other roles.
Hosted by Cat Boynton, a rising senior at Oxbridge Academy who is training for a professional career in the Musical Theater industry, YOUNG PROFESSIONAL ACTORS: WE DID IT. SO CAN YOU. gives those dreaming of a career in musical theater an inside look at the path other theater students took to achieve their goals. The first of the series features Casey Butler from Jupiter, Florida who attends Cardinal Newman High School. Casey has starred as George Llewelyn Davies in the Broadway production of FINDING NEVERLAND, as Tom of Warwick in the national tour of CAMELOT and was seen in the premier of FLORINDA’S TIME at the Theatre at St. Jean. Regionally, he has appeared as Baby John in WEST SIDE STORY, as Billy Ray, Jr. in ON GOLDEN POND, Gus/Augustus in ARCADIA and in numerous other productions.
Music broadens the mind and the imagination. In this unique activity, your child will listen to three classical music pieces and create music-inspired art as they listen. Using crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint or whatever you wish, the goal is for them to capture the feel of the music in their art. We have provided access to our Regional Arts Classical Concert Series inspired playlist to make it easy and convenient. Recommended for ages 5 and up. View the activity sheet.
Kick up your heels with the RADIO CITY ROCKETTES! The famed dance troupe, who dazzled Kravis Center audiences with their Christmas Spectacular in 2013, have been American icons for nearly 100 years. The ROCKETTES are known around the world for their perfect precision and performing amazing synchronized dances in astounding fashion, and now, you can dance along with them in these Instagram virtual dance classes! Each class is led by a ROCKETTE and the classes include ballet, fitness and more!
Join cast members from the BROADWAY company of ALADDIN as they teach you how to perform the show’s opening dance act, ARABIAN NIGHTS! Grab your sneakers and get set for some fun!
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, the Miami City Ballet invites you to a series of dance classes to keep you on your toes! Join company dancers as they share their talent and passion for ballet in these instructional videos catered to all levels of dancers. The Miami-based ballet company regularly performs at the Kravis Center and is led by Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez.
