SOUND/STAGE PRESENTS: SALÓN LOS ÁNGELES
Enjoy this special tribute to Salón Los Ángeles, the oldest dance hall in Mexico City. Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, featured in our 21-22 Regional Arts Classical Concert Series, joins composer and musician Arturo Márquez and conductor Gustavo Dudamel to perform Rhapsody in Blue with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

A MUSIC LESSON: INSTRUMENTS AND MUSICAL FIGURES FOR KIDS
A fantastic resource for kids interested in learning about music. This video teaches children about string, wind and percussion instruments and about musical figures including the various notes and more.
SWAN LAKE: KIDS BALLET CLASS
Bright, colorful and engaging, this virtual ballet lesson will have your kids dancing and smiling. They’ll have the chance to learn some of the dances from the iconic ballet, SWAN LAKE.
GILLIAN LYNNE ON CATS CHOREOGRAPHY: BACKSTAGE AT CATS THE MUSICAL
Gillian Lynne, renowned British ballerina turned choreographer, shares a behind-the-scenes look at one of Broadway’s longest-running musicals, CATS. Lynne describes how she created the choreography, including observing actual cats (including her own) and gives a look at many of the most famed numbers in the show. Have the kids join Buddy Bray and flutist Mehrdad Gholami to discover how to play musical patterns in this episode of Cliburn Kids. A variety of engaging activities can help children learn about different patterns in music and how to play them, as well as how to create their own.
Just perfect to get your kids moving, this video lesson is taught by Quynn Johnson, award-winning performer, teaching artist and author. Ms. Quynn shares basic tap steps for children in grades 2-5 and teaches them how to create beats, rhythm, pattern and choreography. Tap shoes are welcome, but not needed and kids can learn at their own pace in their own space!
