HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING ON OUR DIGITAL STAGE
Discover a behind-the-scenes perspective from the author of 111 PLACES IN PALM BEACH THAT YOU MUST NOT MISS. Enjoy this reading of the acclaimed play that was featured in our 2017-2018 PEAK series line-up. L.A. THEATRE WORKS’ THE MOUNTAINTOP is an award-winning play that surmises what happened the night before Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in front of the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis. Through humor and dramatic interpretation, the mystery of King’s interaction with a seemingly inconsequential hotel maid on the eve of his death comes to life.

Inspired by the words and action of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., WE SHALL OVERCOME is a joyful celebration of music from across the African-American music traditions that electrified generations of civil rights activists and defenders with interwoven spoken word from Dr. King’s recorded speeches. Damien Sneed, who performed this album as part of the Kravis Center’s 2019 GOSPEL GALA, brought his brand of classical, jazz, and sanctified soul to venues across the country during Dr. King’s holiday, Black History Month, and Women’s Month

Award-winning actress and singer Idina Menzel, a past performer at the Kravis Center, has created a kid-friendly series to entertain the world from her very own treehouse. Join Idina, who starred in the original Broadway production of WICKED, in this delightful video series which includes story-time, sing-along musical performances and some special friends. It’s fun and engagement for kids of all ages.
In You Should See Me in a Crown, high-school student Liz Lighty believes that she’s too black, too poor and too awkward to shine in her small, uber-rich and prom obsessed Indiana town. But she comes up with a plan to change all that—except she’ll have to deal with numerous challenges along with way. Including catty competitors, social media trolls and a bunch of embarrassing public events. Join Joseph Conyers, assistant principal bassist of The Philadelphia Orchestra (a past performance in the Kravis Center’s Regional Arts Classical Concert series), as he hosts video highlights from master classes for string players. Noah Bendix-Balgley, first concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker, explains a passage from the first movement of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Ludwig Quandt, the orchestra’s first principal cellist, also coaches a segment from the second movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Bassist Odön Rácz from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra works through a selection from Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite.
His name is synonymous with the blues and now internationally acclaimed jazz musician Wynton Marsalis shares his knowledge, skills and passion with you! Marsalis, who has performed at the Kravis Center numerous times, plays, sings and teaches the blues in this special video.
