Whether you read the book ahead of time or after you’ve “met” the writer, you’ll get an insider’s look into the writer’s vision, the story behind the story and much more. Join widely published freelance travel writer Skye Sherman as she interviews author Cristyle Wood Egitto. This virtual presentation takes place on February 9 at 8 pm and includes audience Q & A.

THE TEN TENORS LARGER THAN LIFE CONCERT

Experience the music of the renowned TEN TENORS who performed at the Kravis Center during our 2017-2018 season. This Australian music ensemble has toured across the globe wowing audiences with everything from operatic arias and soulful ballads to chart-topping pop and rock tunes. This concert, LARGER THAN LIFE, was filmed live at the Lyric Theater in Brisbane, Australia, the TEN TENORS concert home.

Enjoy this reading of the acclaimed play that was featured in our 2017-2018 PEAK series line-up. L.A. THEATRE WORKS’ THE MOUNTAINTOP is an award-winning play that surmises what happened the night before Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in front of the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis. Through humor and dramatic interpretation, the mystery of King’s interaction with a seemingly inconsequential hotel maid on the eve of his death comes to life.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, featured in the Kravis Center’s Regional Arts Classical Concert Series, brings their artistry and talent to you at home! LIVE WITH CARNEGIE HALL: NEW YORK STRING ORCHESTRA

A holiday tradition for more than 50 years, this special performance features some of the country’s most talented young musicians alongside celebrated guest artists. This virtual presentation offers a look at past performances as well as a behind-the scenes view with conductor Jamie Laredo and frequent guest pianist Emanuel Ax, who has performed in our Regional Arts Classical Concert Series.

Award-winning actress and singer Idina Menzel, a past performer at the Kravis Center, has created a kid-friendly series to entertain the world from her very own treehouse. Join Idina, who starred in the original Broadway production of WICKED, in this delightful video series which includes story-time, sing-along musical performances and some special friends. It’s fun and engagement for kids of all ages.

YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN

In You Should See Me in a Crown, high-school student Liz Lighty believes that she’s too black, too poor and too awkward to shine in her small, uber-rich and prom obsessed Indiana town. But she comes up with a plan to change all that—except she’ll have to deal with numerous challenges along with way. Including catty competitors, social media trolls and a bunch of embarrassing public events. Tune in on YouTube to join the conversation with the book’s author Leah Johnson and Tina Fey during our MEAN GIRLS Virtual Book Club discussion, premiering on January 14!

CARNEGIE HALL MASTER CLASS: ORCHESTRAL STRINGS

Join Joseph Conyers, assistant principal bassist of The Philadelphia Orchestra (a past performance in the Kravis Center’s Regional Arts Classical Concert series), as he hosts video highlights from master classes for string players. Noah Bendix-Balgley, first concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker, explains a passage from the first movement of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Ludwig Quandt, the orchestra’s first principal cellist, also coaches a segment from the second movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Bassist Odön Rácz from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra works through a selection from Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite.

LEARNING THE BLUES WITH WYNTON MARSALIS

His name is synonymous with the blues and now internationally acclaimed jazz musician Wynton Marsalis shares his knowledge, skills and passion with you! Marsalis, who has performed at the Kravis Center numerous times, plays, sings and teaches the blues in this special video.

Introduce your young ones to the beauty and excitement of classical music with CLIBURN KIDS. This collection of videos features fun and engaging activities to expose second to fifth graders to classical music. Each video explores topics that delve into the way music is organized and structured, counting and rhythm, expressive elements and much more.

Enjoy our line-up of read aloud videos of children’s books for young children presented by professional storytellers and teaching artists. Each video includes a fun activity related to the story.  

LEARN & PLAY

Gather up your little ones —the Kravis Center presents LEARN & PLAY, a special online storytelling experience for young children. This series includes 5 different stories told by 5 different professional storytellers over the course of 5 weeks as part of our Kravis @ Home series. Each presentation will engage and entertain your child, and offer a fun activity or lesson you can share with them. Recommended for children ages up to 5 years-old.

Enjoy this special video series featuring Catherine Boynton, a senior at Oxbridge Academy, as she interviews young artists who have had a role on Broadway or in a national tour. Each artist offers their personal experience with the performing arts industry and their path to success on stage.
