NEW YORK CITY BALLET: 21ST CENTURY VOICES

Experience the majesty of the New York City Ballet is this special performance available today through October 27. Performing a variety of pieces including RODEO: FOUR DANCE EPISODES, an excerpt from PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION, an excerpt from POLYPHONIA and more, these incredible dancers bring the grace and beauty of the ballet to you at home.

Experience the superlative sound of Mezzo Soprano Madison Marie McIntosh. Madison, who grew up performing in the Kravis Center’s Beyond the Stage series, recently performed the title role of Carmen with the Hudson Opera Theatre, as well as numerous other roles around the globe. In this virtual concert, she shares her incredible talent in a series of songs recorded at the Kravis Center.

Kravis Center continues to pays tribute to National Hispanic Heritage month with a one-of-a-kind event, VIVA BROADWAY! HEAR OUR VOICES is a digital concert in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month. Join in this unique virtual experience that pays tribute to Latinx milestones in theater, featuring an extraordinary roster of award-winning stage and screen Latinx stars including Justina Machado (SIX FEET UNDER, ONE DAY AT A TIME), HEAR OUR VOICES, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND star Gabrielle Ruiz, Natascia Diaz (MAN OF LA MANCHA), COME FROM AWAY original Broadway cast member Caesar Samayoa, as well as Antonio Banderas, Jaime Camil, Karen Olivo, Angélica Vale, and more.

A featured performer in our upcoming 20/21 season, Magos Herrera and Brooklyn Rider will enchant you with songs from their DREAMERS album, a collection steeped in Latin American traditions. Enjoy this virtual concert which showcases the band’s unique sound and undeniable musical gift.

THE KRAVIS CENTER PRESENTS MEET THE WRITER WOMEN’S BOOK SERIES
INTRIGUING STORIES, REVELATORY BOOKS 

Book and literary lovers…this unique series was created just for you!
MEET THE WRITER allows you to discover a behind-the-scenes perspective of each book as told firsthand by the author. Get an insider’s look into the writer’s vision, the story behind the story and much more. Each writer will be interviewed by Julie Gilbert and questions will be taken from the online audience. 
The cost for each webinar is $25 a session.

BEHIND THE SCENES IN THE LION KING PUPPET SHOP

Go backstage and get an up-close look at the amazing puppets of Disney’s THE LION KING on Broadway. Adam Savage and the team at Tested take you along as they go behind the scenes of the award-winning musical, a featured production from our 2018 Kravis On Broadway series. The show’s puppet supervisor Michael Reilly shares the many intricate and varied puppets and masks used in the performance and shows how they’re maintained in his traveling workshop.

MEAN GIRLS DANCE WORKOUT

Get moving with the Fit Broadway team as they teach you dance combinations from the hit musical MEAN GIRLS, a featured performance in our upcoming Kravis On Broadway series. This 15-minute dance workout is not only fun, it’s a fabulous way to get in your exercise and perfect for people of all fitness levels. Let’s dance!

STORYCORNER AT KRAVIS: READ ALOUD STORYTIME 

Enjoy our line-up of read aloud videos of children’s books for young children presented by professional storytellers and teaching artists. Each video includes a fun activity related to the story.  

LEARN & PLAY

Gather up your little ones —the Kravis Center presents LEARN & PLAY, a special online storytelling experience for young children. This series includes 5 different stories told by 5 different professional storytellers over the course of 5 weeks as part of our Kravis @ Home series. Each presentation will engage and entertain your child, and offer a fun activity or lesson you can share with them. Recommended for children ages up to 5 years-old.

Curious minds of all ages will take delight in this collection of more than 4,000 videos featuring a wide array of fascinating topics from how things are made, animation, music and drawing to stop motion, history and cool activities to do at home or in the classroom. All kid-friendly and teacher approved, this unique resource is continually updated and a fantastic way to engage, learn and have fun!

CATCO IS EDUCATION VIRTUAL ADVENTURES: PLAYWRITING

A wonderful way for kids to learn about the theater and all that goes into a production, CATCO Artist Educators have created mini-lessons on playwriting, acting, and much more! From Broadway Basics to character development, musical theater dance moves and tools for acting, this series will engage and inspire theater-loving children of all ages.
