COME FROM AWAY: 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 YEAR OF COMMEMORATION ACTIVITY
In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, the Broadway hit musical COME FROM AWAY (coming to the Kravis Center this November), is inviting everyone to join them in honoring the incredible kindness, fellowship, and love shared amongst 7000 strangers and the people of Newfoundland. This special nationwide activity will help everyone remember that we all have the power to be the candle in the window and a channel of peace for each other. And be a part of the Kravis Center’s day of charity by bringing your donations for three local charities to the Center on September 10.
SOUTH FLORIDA PBS PRESENTS: WICKED IN CONCERT
Join Kristin Chenoweth (performing this February at the Kravis Center) and Idina Menzel as they celebrate the music of WICKED (coming in our 22-23 Kravis On Broadway series). This concert features the score of the hit musical performed by an all-star cast.
CHRISTINE ANDREAS DISCUSSES HER ROLE IN “PIAF: NO REGRETS”
Christine Andreas, known for her Tony-nominated roles in OKLAHOMA! And ON YOUR TOES, discusses the album of music from her latest cabaret show, PIAF: NO REGRETS which she will perform at the Kravis Center March 12-13. This thrilling show features Andreas singing various Édith Piaf songs in both French and English and has been lauded by critics around the world. PHILADANCO is celebrating 50 years of bringing the highest quality dance performances to the stage. They are recognized around the world for their innovation, creativity and preservation of predominately African-American traditions in dance. Enjoy this discussion with the company’s Founder & Artistic Director, Joan Myers Brown as she shares her experiences and how she dealt with overwhelming bias to attain success in the world of dance as a black ballerina in the era of segregation. Check out this intimate concert featuring Bria Skonberg that was recorded in 2017 at Paste Studios in New York. Skonberg, accompanied by three fellow musicians, performs songs from her album WITH A TWIST, among other tunes. THE HI WAY – HONOLULU THEATRE FOR YOUTH
Created by theater professionals and educators, Honolulu Theatre for Youth’s (who will be presenting THE CARP THAT WOULDN’T QUIT in our upcoming Family Fare series) THE HI WAY, is a unique hybrid of theater and digital media and is the ideal venue for children to learn, be entertained and engaged.
