One of the most revered dance troupes in the world, Martha Graham’s influence on modern dance has been compared to Picasso’s influence on art, Stravinsky’s on music, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s on architecture. The program will be a mix of classic Graham works and new commissions. They include Nacho Duato’s Rust, as well as Lamentation Variations–a series of vignettes inspired by Graham’s iconic 1930s solo piece, but interpreted by three of today’s most noteworthy choreographers: Doug Varone, Aszure Barton and Lar Lubovitch. “Graham’s choreography remains a true, living American document.” – The New York Times
