Annual Dress Circle Dinner Was a Singular Sensation for Kravis Center Donors
The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts honored its Dress Circle members with an exquisite dinner prior to a performance of A Chorus Line on December 3.
Kravis Center Chairman William A. Meyer welcomed more than 400 Dress Circle members and guests who attended the lush and lovely event that was held in the Weiner Banquet Center’s Gimelstob Ballroom. The Dress Circle Dinner is an annual event that salutes donors who currently contribute $1,000 or more to the Annual Campaign.
Calling attendees the “backbone of the Kravis Center,” Mr. Meyer commended Dress Circle members for generously contributing approximately 83 percent of the total $4.4-million raised during the Kravis Center’s 20th anniversary season. Most exciting is that fact that of the 5,900 annual campaign donors, nearly 16 percent were first time contributors.
He went on to thank Barclay’s and the bank’s Palm Beach Regional Manager John Cregan, for becoming a new Corporate Partner and sponsoring the Dress Circle Dinner, which was attended by several members of the Kravis Center Board of Directors (Stephen Brown, John Jenkins, Mark Levy, Jane Mitchell, Kathryn Vecellio and Lee Wolf) and Life Trustees John Howard and Alan Miller.
Mr. Meyer also recognized several key attendees including West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio and Marjorie and Jack Levins of the Carl Marks Foundation, who were sponsoring the performance of A Chorus Line.
Following the dinner, Dress Circle members went into the Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Concert Hall, where they enjoyed a high-kicking and tap-happy performance of the smash Broadway musical that won nine Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for drama.
