Palm Beach Symphony presents an afternoon with virtuoso pianist Lola Astanova followed by the Palm Beach Symphony’s premiere of Mahler Symphony no.5.

Lola Astanova returns to Palm Beach to bridge the gap between a great Mozart concerto and romantic miniatures. It is her unique style and virtuosity that has become familiar to millions of fans around the world, many of them of an age and demographic that classical music has spent decades trying to reach. With a direct pianistic lineage back to Liszt and a distinct visual flair, the dazzling young pianist has perfected a riveting, deeply emotional style that hearkens back to the old masters.

"The Season’s finale will be presented at the Kravis Center, and I wanted to end not just with a big piece, but also with a piece that has never been performed by the Palm Beach Symphony, Mahler's Fifth Symphony. In the first part, we will perform with a favorite of Palm Beach, Lola Astanova, who will perform Mozart's D minor concert, a work full of drama and tragedy, and in the same key as his Requiem, which will link directly with the funeral march at the beginning of Mahler's epic symphony." -Maestro Ramón Tebar
