Mr. Shayne, a retired president of Warner Brothers Television, where he shepherded such hit shows as Alice and The Dukes of Hazard and Mr. Sunshine, an internationally renowned artist, illustrator and sculptor, tell their own power couple story of how gay relationships have slowly become more accepted in the last half century. At the same time, they’ll share intimate, inside stories from film, television and print about stars from a young Marlon Brando (with whom Shayne shared an acting class), to an emotional Liza Minnelli (who cried all through an audition for Diary of Ann Frank), to a generous Rock Hudson (he loaned the couple his home when their Hollywood house burned to the ground). Copies of Double Life will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the lecture.
