“Butterfly Lovers,” one of the loveliest and best-known East-West classics to come from China, is the centerpiece of the National Symphony’s debut at the Kravis Center. Storytelling continues in the program, ranging from the orchestra’s composer in residence to Strauss’s epic tone poem A Hero’s Life. The outstanding China National Symphony maintains an international repertoire along with its international reputation, recognized in the U.S. since its debut in 2008.
