Children’s Performance, our flagship education program, brings together children, families and caregivers from throughout the community to experience the magic of opera!

In 2017, Children’s Performance will feature a 60-minute abridged version of W.S Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance performed by Palm Beach Opera’s Benenson Young Artists. Sung in
English with supertitles projected above the stage, this comic delight will be made complete with beautiful costumes, lively narration, full orchestra…and a pirate ship!

Learning is Fun! Here is what you can expect:

-Fun filled Education Stations before the show to engage eager learners about opera and music.
-Learn how instruments in the orchestra work, how opera singers sing so loud, how they put on their make-up and wigs, and much more.
-During the performance you’ll get a sneak peak behind the scenes! The curtain remains open between acts so that the set, prop, and light changes are visible to everyone.
-Cast and crew will interact with the audience during the performance, narrating the story and highlighting interesting elements of the creative process.
-Meet and greet with the artists after the performance for autographs.
-Braille programs are available upon request.
